The Oconee Course at Reynolds Plantation Named Site of the 2007 PGA Cup
The Oconee Course at Reynolds Plantation, an acclaimed Rees Jones design, has been named the site of the 22nd PGA Cup, Sept. 21-23, 2007, the premier international competition for PGA Professionals.

Marking its first appearance in Georgia, the PGA Cup is structured after the Ryder Cup and brings together 10-member teams of U.S. PGA Professionals facing a 10-member team from Great Britain & Ireland. Last year, the U.S. suffered its first defeat since 1984, a 15-11 decision at The K Club in Straffan, Ireland.

Since the PGA Cup originated in 1973 as an outgrowth of the PGA Professional National Championship, the United States has never been defeated on home soil, and owns a 14-4-3 overall record.

“The PGA Cup is a one-of-a-kind event for a PGA Professional, and a wonderful goal that our finest playing members aspire to experience,” said PGA of America President Roger Warren. “We are very pleased that The Oconee Course at Reynolds Plantation will serve as host of the next PGA Cup, and that it will provide a championship setting that will be among the most memorable in the history of this event.”

The Reserve at Lake Keowee Announces Plans for New Amenities and More!
Lake Keowee The Reserve at Lake Keowee broke ground on the first phase of its newest Village amenities on the lake. Now under construction are a meeting house, post office, general store, live/work units and a sales office. The second phase will include a resident's club, fitness center with indoor swimming and more.

The Reserve's new 711-acre neighborhood, The Settlement, sits just a short boat ride across the cove from the new Village amenities. This lakefront neighborhood offers mountainview and wooded homesites in addition to those on the water. This Settlement will feature more new amenities, including a spectacular resort-style, interactive swimming pool that will rival those found at theme and water parks.

Also new this year is a concierge to assist members with everything from dining reservations to boat services to Guest House and cottage rentals. The new executive director of the Reserve at Lake Keowee Foundation is also adding to the social life at The Reserve by presenting an exciting lineup of cultural events over the next few months.

Finally, a new golf complex designed by Arnold Palmer will be announced in October.
